I went into Nationals thinking i was in the open division. Upon entering, i found that my pieces had to be entered in the Division of Excellence. Only the top four placings receive awards in the Division of Excellence. My upland bird was one point away from winning North American Champion. My game head scored a 98 and there was a three way tie for first. I ended up with a third place finish, but it could have gone either way. The top honor was National Champion.
