I've always said if you want to become one of the best you need to learn from one of the best. i teach from the new beginner all the way up to those of you who would just like to elevate your work to the next level. as an instructor, i strongly encourage you, as an individual, to do your research when it comes to deciding on a taxidermy school. time and time again i hear from students who paid less because they thought they were getting a good deal or they felt they couldn't afford going to a better school, only to be disappointed with their training outcome..."it was a waste of time and money" they said. remember that old saying... "You Get What You Pay For!" so again, please do your research, a little more spent now can save you big down the road.
Students who attend Artistic School of Taxidermy will learn in depth, hands on training in all aspects of taxidermy. Many of my students have gone on to excel in State and National Competitions throughout the United States in the mammal, game head and bird categories. When attending ASOT you set a time schedule that works for you, there are no set course dates, and you choose what it is that you would like to learn. As an instructor, I don't specialize in just whitetails, or birds. I do everything and I do it well. I will show you what it takes to recreate a stellar piece whether it be a turkey in flight, a preening duck, a life-size black bear, a mule deer pedestal mount or a life-size cougar chasing a life-size mountain goat off a rocky cliff.
