...What others are saying about
Artistic School of Taxidermy...
Bill Gray from Matsu-Valley, Alaska writes...
I have seen a lot of work from "so called graduates" from taxidermy schools that can't hold a candle to your student's work." I wish everyone could get a look at what you can instill in your students before they throw their money down a rat hole and spend a lot of time learning how to do things the wrong way.
Times are changing and your school is up there on the cutting edge. WOW! is the only word that can describe your students and their (work)...this word is in parenthesis because when you're having as much FUN as these students seem to be, can it really be work? More like a labor of love.
I've said it to others and I'll say it again: Bad teachers spoil good students. A great teacher however, and Troy, you are obviously a great teacher, can bring the good students to a level of greatness most can only imagine.
From the examples of mounts demonstrated and the high number of Troy's students that are not only continuing, but are among the elite of the clan, again, all I can say is, WOW! As the saying goes, "The proof is in the puddin", and what beautiful puddin it is indeed. Too bad some will throw away good money on bad teachers and never see their talents fully reach fruition. Job well done students, and Troy, with-out you we would all be poorer.

Troy your students work looks great. The attention to detail with your instruction is awesome! I wish I could have made it out for some training on Competition Techniques...your track record of winning "Best of Categories" is impressive. Congrats to you and your students!

Troy I spent some time going through your thread and was inspired by the exceptional work of both Student and teacher! Well done! I love to see folks loving what they learn! You Sir are a true genius when it comes to the Art as well as getting the little extra out of the folks who are wise enough to visit you to learn how to make money and do better work! I can see there is a commitment you make to your students and in the process, you really make it look fun! Simply incredible my friend! Keep up the fantastic work!

Troy, I just gotta say, many long time taxidermy studios don't put out work of that caliber, and your students are doing it! You definitely are talented as hell and obviously have a way with teaching others. Just very, very impressive! Look forward to seeing more work. Got to browsing through your site again, and i said it before but i feel the need to say it again DAMN, AWESOME looking stuff coming out of that place! Nice job.!

I have been around the field of Taxidermy for a number of years and have seen a huge separation in the quality of work that is being produced as well as taught. Troy, your TRUE ARTISTIC TALENTS' are superior on many levels. Teaching this skill is just another facet that sets you apart from all the rest. I always enjoy seeing your next students projects. Keep up the good work and remember, "It is Art".

You and your students are really doing some fantastic work out there in Idaho. I love the concepts in which you operate off of on all your mounts realism. I would love to come out and eat some of those mushrooms with you some day. Keep up the Great work love everything you do and your new building appears to be "One of the Best" and makes a nice atmosphere for learning.

Troy's TAXIDERMY BOOT CAMP!!! This isn't your pansy ass 8-5 taxidermy school. If you are going to spend your money go see Troy. You will never see anything but the best work ideals being taught at Troy's. The one on one is exactly what you need you get the individual attention you deserve and after all its your money and you want the "BEST TEACHER" which usually translates to the "BEST TAXIDERMIST" you can find to learn from, and Troy is just that!

For anyone wanting to learn from one of the best taxidermist in the country this is your chance. I have had the pleasure to work at Troy's shop on numerous occasions. When I first went to Troy's Studio, I thought I knew a lot about bird taxidermy. Well, Troy opened up my eyes to many things that I still use to this day on every bird mount that I do. I've been to Troy's Studio several times now over the past 10 years and just when I thought I had seen it all Troy taught me some more. I would highly recommend Troy to anyone wanting to learn taxidermy or take their bird work to the next level. I will also mention that his beautiful new home is like being in the middle of Elk camp in some of the most pristine country in the Rocky Mountains.
